How Autism School Works
Hello, autism10 here ^_^
Autism School is for those who do not know what autism is or would like to expand their knowledge of autism.
There are three levels: 1, 2, and 3. Everyone must start off at Level 1 unless you pass an entrance exam of sorts which will determine if the level you wish to enter is right for you.
To put it simply, there will be various classes per level. For the best possible learning, they will be limited to 5 people each. This way, teachers will be able to give more individual instruction. There can be multiple teachers per class, with a maximum of 3 teachers. These teachers can teach several classes, depending on what they are willing to do or what they can do. They can also teach more than one level. These teachers will be moderators, but only in the forum(s) for the level(s) they teach. They can also be existing mods who are made teachers.
The students will not be grouped based on anything, just on who joins first. We will only have one class until the sixth person joins, who will have a private lesson until somebody else joins, and so forth. Students can only be in one class at a time, and when a student moves on to the next level, the class that they left will not receive a new student until somebody else signs up.
Students can ask questions via class thread or via a PM to one or more of the teachers. Just make sure that the questions are relevant to the topic being studied, as anybody who repeatedly drags the class off-topic will be banned from Autism School and will not be allowed to join.
~~The Rules~~
1. Please stay on topic as much as possible, and if somebody strays off-topic, just bring the conversation back on topic. If a teacher strays off-topic without any apparent reason, please PM me (autism10) and I will make sure to warn the teacher. If you are a teacher and do not wish to receive any warnings, please PM me every time you plan to go a little off-topic as part of the class.
2. You may ask any questions, just make sure they're relevant!
3. Do not say anything inappropriate. This is Autism School, and we accept students of all ages! By which I mean, there could be somebody who is 5 years old and we want everyone to have a good impression of TAR.com; we are a friendly site here. We don't want to say anything to go against the whole point of TAR.com.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Becoming a Teacher:
There are two ways to become a teacher: a) going through the whole course, or b) taking the Autism School Teacher Test (ASTT). Potential teachers will first take the Teacher Test, which must be passed with 100% accuracy to become a teacher without going through the course first. Otherwise, you can go through the necessary parts of the course and take the Teacher Test after finishing the course. A potential teacher must take the ASTT and pass with 100% accuracy on the third time after completing the course or earlier to become a teacher. There will be no fifth test.
About the Program:
The Autism School program is a normal discussion, just steered towards various facts about autism. There can be as much discussion or as little discussion as the teacher(s) wish; therefore, some classes will take longer than others. However, never hesitate to say that the class is going too fast or too slow, as classes cannot be changed.
As for now, I can't think of much more, but I will update this post if necessary.
Thanks for reading!
And you also have the admin... OOPS! Kinda like the principal... DOUBLE OOPS!!
Re: How Autism School Works
Wait a second, I said you're in 1-1, not true, if you say you know about autism already then you take the entrance test. PM me and we can arrange a time on AIM to do it.
